Griffen Matthias
[email protected]
Griffen grew up in Ankeny where he was a member of the High School Golf Team where they won the state team championship and he won the individual championship. He then attended Indian Hills for one season to play golf before transferring to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He graduated from NSU with a degree in Business Administration in 2016 as well as being a three year letter winner on the golf team. Griffen started his work career at Briarwood where he did everything from course maintenance, restaurant, and golf operations. His professional career began in 2016 where he was hired as an assistant golf professional and later was promoted to head golf professional at Muskogee Golf Club. His passion from a young age has always been with the game of golf, whether it has been playing or helping others enjoy the game.
When not at work he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend Aitana, his two dogs, and hanging out with friends and family. While most of his time has been in the business side of golf he still enjoys getting out and playing a round. When not on the course, you might find Griffen relaxing at the bowling alley or cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
